How to Use the Reporting Module?

The Reporting Module is split across two separate pages, each accessed from the left-hand sidebar. Pick the right page first — Reports and Statements are independent routes, not tabs of the same page.

🧭 Two pages, two uses

1️⃣ Reporting > Statements

Compliance-flavored — TDS, GST, Invoices, Expenses, and Ledger.

  1. Pick a date range (Start Date / End Date).
  2. Tick the statements you want.
  3. Click Generate Report.
  4. Click Export to download.

2️⃣ Reporting > Reports

Strategic / analytical — PnL, Sales Revenue, Marketing, and Stock On Hand.

  1. Open the Reports page from the sidebar. All reports live on this single page — switch between them in-page using the cards / dropdown selector (there are no separate routed report pages).
  2. Pick a report type: PnL by Range, PnL Yearly, PnL Comparison, Sales Revenue, Marketing, or Stock On Hand.
  3. Apply filters — date range, project, owner, category, source, etc.
  4. View the charts and tables on-screen.
  5. Click Export to download (Excel, PDF, or CSV).

📌 Note: Stock On Hand is a card inside the Reports page — a live inventory snapshot for Catalog items configured with Has Quantity Limit = On. Filter by Catalog Category, sort by remaining quantity, and export the snapshot.

🛠️ Step-by-Step (any reporting page)

  1. Access the Module — go to the Reporting section from the left-hand menu.
  2. Choose Your Category:
    • For compliance and transactional data: open Statements.
    • For performance analytics (including live inventory levels via Stock On Hand): open Reports.
  3. Select Report Type — on the Reports page, pick the specific report from the in-page cards / dropdown selector (e.g., “PnL by Range”, “Marketing Report”). All reports share one page, not separate routes.
  4. Apply Filters — set date ranges, categories, departments, projects, owners, or other custom filters to narrow down the data.
  5. Export or Print — every report can be exported to Excel, PDF, or CSV for sharing with stakeholders or filing.

👥 Use Cases

  • Accountants — use TDS, GST, Expenses by Invoice, Expenses by Payment, and Ledger statements for compliance.
  • Operations Managers — use PnL by Range and Sales Revenue reports to assess team or department performance.
  • Marketing Teams — monitor campaign results and lead conversion via the Marketing Report.
  • Inventory / Ops — check live stock levels via Stock On Hand before raising large quotes.
  • CEOs & Founders — use PnL Yearly and PnL Comparison to scan high-level financial trends and make strategic decisions.

📌 Tips:

  • Take a snapshot Export at financial-year-end before any cleanup or archive.
  • Use PnL Comparison to quickly answer “are we doing better than last quarter?”.
  • Use Stock On Hand before raising large quotes for catalog items so you don’t over-promise inventory.
  • Remember: “PnL by Range” lives under Reports, while “GST Expenses” lives under Statements — they are different pages.
