Dropdown Options

The Daai Business Suite allows you to customize dropdown values across modules. This ensures consistency in data entry and accurate reporting. Dropdown Settings is also where you maintain master lists like Catalog Categories (now consolidated here) and many status values whose colors propagate to badges across the suite.

📌 The in-app menu label is Dropdown Settings. (Older docs may say “Dropdown Options” — same page.)

➕ Adding New Dropdown Values

  1. Go to Settings → Dropdown Settings.
  2. Select the Module Section (e.g., Projects, Clients, Assets, Hiring).
  3. Locate the Dropdown Field you want to update.
  4. Click the ➕ Add button.
  5. A text box will appear → Enter the new value.
  6. Click Save → to add the value.
  7. Click Cancel → to discard.

📌 The new value will be instantly available system-wide.

⚙️ Editing or Deleting Dropdown Values

  1. Go to Settings → Dropdown Settings.
  2. Select the Module Section.
  3. Choose the Dropdown Field.
  4. Select the value you want to modify.
  5. Use options:
    • 🟩 Edit → Rename the value (applies across all records, even old ones).
    • 🟥 Delete → Remove the value (only if not linked to any record).

🔒 System-managed values: A few system expense types — Provident Fund (PF), ESIC, and Professional Tax — are reserved for statutory payroll calculations and cannot be deleted. You may rename them, but the system continues to recognise them by their internal IDs.

🎨 Badge Colors for Status Dropdowns

For status-style dropdowns (e.g., Project Status, Lead Source), every value gets an automatic color tag via a deterministic hash-fallback palette. New values you add will display a stable badge color across grids, dashboards, and reports — there is no hard-coded color list to maintain.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Shared Dropdowns across different modules:
    • Lead Sources — shared across all CRM modules (Leads, Prospects, Opportunities).
    • Payment Modes — shared across Finance & Billing.
    • Skills — shared between Hiring (Primary/Secondary Skills) and User/Employee modules.
  • Cannot Delete Linked Values → If a value is already linked to a record, deletion is blocked.
  • ✏️ Editing Values Updates Everywhere → The new label replaces old ones across dashboards, reports, and past records. 🔍 Example: If you rename Project Status → “Started” → “Initiated”, all past & current records will now show Initiated.
  • ✅ This keeps dropdowns clean, consistent, and aligned with your business processes.
