Edit or Delete Lead

✏️ How to Edit a Lead

To make changes to an existing lead:

  • Go to the Leads list (CRM > Leads).
  • Find the lead you want to update — use the search box or filters to narrow the list.
  • Click on that lead row to open the detail aside.
  • In the top-right corner of the aside header, click the Edit button.
  • Update any required details.
  • Click Update to save (or Close to discard your changes).

The changes will reflect immediately. Every edit is captured in the Change Log tab (Old Value → New Value, who, when), so you always have an audit trail.

🗑️ How to Delete a Lead

To permanently remove a lead:

  • Open the Leads list.
  • Find the lead you want to delete and click on it to open the detail aside.
  • In the aside header (top-right), click the red Delete button. Edit and Delete are two separate buttons — you do not need to enter Edit mode first.
  • A confirmation message will appear: “Are you sure you want to delete this lead?”
  • Click Yes / Confirm to delete.

⚠️ Note: Deleted leads cannot be recovered — there is no recycle bin. Delete is also blocked if the lead has dependent records (for example, if it has already been converted to a prospect with follow-up history). In that case, work with the dependent record instead.

🎯 Lead Source Dropdown

  • The Lead Source dropdown lets you track how a lead was acquired (e.g., Website, Referral, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • You can add, edit, or delete Lead Source values from Settings > Dropdown Settings (pick the Lead category and edit its Lead Source options).
  • For detailed steps, refer to the article: 🔗 How to add/edit/delete dropdown values?

ℹ️ Note: You cannot delete a Lead Source value if it’s already linked to existing leads. However, editing it will update the name system-wide, including on past records.
